Joseph "Jody" Roberts

     Joseph "Jody" Roberts of Hugo died September 28, 2004, at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas. He was 67. He was an iron worker, a member of the Baptist faith, and a charter member of the Choctaw Veterans Warrior Society. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
     He was born January 11, 1937 in Soper, the son of Joshua Roberts and Jincy (James) Roberts and had lived all of his life in the Hugo area. Jody loved spending time in the outdoors, fishing, camping, and hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents.
     Surviving relatives: His companion, Shirley Phillips of Hugo; three sons, Joseph H. Roberts, Jr., of Hugo, Curtis Knight of Motlow, Okla., and James J. Hughes of Florida; one step son, Tommy Phillips, Jr., of Hugo; one step daughter, Setina Reynolds of Hugo; one brother, Arnett Roberts of Hugo; three grandsons, one granddaughter and seven step grandchildren.
     Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
     Miller & Miller Funeral Home - Hugo.
