Kenneth Ross Winship

     Funeral services for Kenneth Ross Winship of Rattan were held at 9 a.m. October 6, 2004, at Rattan High School Gymnasium with Rev. Jonathan Hooker and Rev. Bryan Fouts officiating. Interment will be at 3:30 p.m. in Chillicothe, Vernon, Texas.
     Mr. Winship died Friday, October 1, 2004, in Eau Claire, Wisc., as a result of an automobile accident. He was 40.
     Kenneth "Ross" Winship was born December 13, 1963 in Antlers, the son of Bill Shannon and Jewell (Winship) Shannon. Ross lived in this area most of his life. He was an electrician in the construction industry. He was a member of the Rattan Assembly of God. He was married to Melissa Ann Phillips on June 16, 1990 in Baytown, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Barbara Billy.
     Surviving relatives: Wife, Melissa Winship of the home; one son, Kenneth "Sonny" Winship, Jr., of the home; two daughters, Tanja Gail Winship and Gabrielle Winship of the home; five sisters, Oma Nell Clay of Rattan, Donna Courtwright of Rattan, Connie Courtwright of Sobol, Billie Vanderveen of Atoka, Becky Winship of Caddo; numerous nieces and nephews.
