Mary Elizabeth Goodwin

     Memorial services for Mary Elizabeth Goodwin of Fort Towson were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 22, 2004, at Fort Towson Cemetery Chapel with family officiating. Interment was in Navasota, Texas.
     Mrs. Goodwin died Monday, October 18, 2004, in Hugo. She was 79.
     Mary Goodwin was born on February 12, 1925 in Navasota, Texas, to Fletcher Leake, Sr., and Rachel Jewel (Anderson) Leake. She married Chester Goodwin in 1945 in Navasota, Texas. She was a homemaker and a member of the Balwood Baptist Church in Carrollton, Texas. Mary loved working in her flowers and yard. She also loved dancing and country music and will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
     She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, sister and an infant son, Daryl Wayne Goodwin.
     Mary is survived by her husband, Chester D. Goodwin of Navasota, Texas; two sons, John W. Goodwin and wife Susie of Dallas, Texas, and James D. Goodwin of Navasota, Texas; one daughter, Karen L. Goodwin of Fort Towson; one sister, Willie Sarah Parker of Navasota, Texas; four grandchildren, Lanna S. Goodwin, John E. Goodwin, Jeremie M. Goodwin and Brandy E. Goodwin; two great-grandchildren, Rae Dawn Cofer and Kelly Cofer.
     An informal visitation was held at Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home.
