Gene Autry Young

     Funeral services for Gene Autry Young of Idabel were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Antioch Baptist Church, Harris, Okla., with Rev. Nathenial Williams officiating. Interment was in Williamson Cemetery in Idabel.
     Mr. Young died October 18, 2004, at Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, Texas. He was 61. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Harris, Okla.
     Surviving relatives: Wife, Katheryne Young of Idabel; one son, Gene A. Young, Jr., of Seattle, Wash.; two stepsons, Kyle Andrews of Tulsa and Ty Turrentine of Ft. Bragg, N.C.; three daughters, Paula Shanks of Tulsa, Debra Young of California, Keisha Young of Phoenix, Ariz.; three brothers, Robert Cheatam of Idabel, Oliver Cheatam of Waukegan, Ill., Bernard Cheatam of Little Rock, Ark.; step brother, Robert Cheatam of West Helena, Ark.; two sisters, Shirley Polk of West Helena, Ark., and DeLores Parker of Little Rock, Ark.; step sister, Willie Mae Cheatam of West Helena, Ark.; mother, Clenix Young and step father, Willie C. Cheatam of West Helena, Ark.; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; a host of nieces and nephews.
