Winnie Irene Craft

Funeral services for Winnie Irene Craft of Paris, Texas, formerly of Hugo, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2005 in the Bill Darrough Pavilion of Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, with Jack Cooley officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Mrs. Craft died Sunday, September 11, 2005, in Paris, Texas. She was 86.Winnie Irene Craft was born on November 9, 1918 in Boggy Bottom, Okla., to John Logan and Rebecca Eilleen (Beatty) Cole. She married Leonard Irvin Craft on April 1, 1936 in Soper. She had lived in this area for 30 years before moving to Paris, Texas in 1983. She had retired from the Department of Defense as a Budget Analyst and was of the Baptist faith. She was an avid bridge player, a member of the ladies bowling league and she will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Leonard Craft; one son, John L. Craft on July 28, 2005; one daughter, Yerba Jean Esau in 2002; and one granddaughter Becky Esau in 1993.Winnie is survived by six grandchildren, Donna Mata of Lawton, Okla., Lisa Craft of Paris, Texas, Bonnie Strickland of St. Louis, Mo., Kenny Esau of Arkansas, Butch Esau of Tennessee and Michael Craft of Hastings, N.Y.; seven great-grandchildren, Michael Dahl of Paris, Texas, Amber Gibbons of Paris, Texas, Garrett Gibbons of Paris, Texas, Shandy & Oscar Ortiz of Ft. Campbell, Ky., Megan Craft of Hastings, N.Y. and Christopher Craft of Phoenix, Ariz.; and two great-great-grandchildren, Gianna Inez Ortiz and Xavier Ortiz, both of Ft. Campbell, Ky.
