G.T. “Skeet” Ellis

Granville Thomas “Skeet” Ellis, 69, of Greenville, Texas, died Sept. 27, 2005, in Greenville. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Bill Shaddox and Rev. Joel Arnold officiating. Burial was at McWright Cemetery.
Born Jan. 10, 1936 in Frogville, Okla., he was the son of P.H. and Drue Byers Ellis. He married Karan Myres on Sept. 13, 1956, in Hugo, Okla. Mr. Ellis served in the U.S. Navy. He was a purchasing agent for Cabell’s Ice Cream and was a member of Salem-Kinser United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife of Greenville; a son, Bryan Stephen Ellis of Greenville; daughter and husband Christi Lynn Ellis and Gary Bringman of Hide-a-way Lake; a brother, Ralph Ellis of Tennessee; three sisters, Sue Murray of Hugo, Okla., Reggie Warner of Paris and Jean Trantham of Grant, Okla.; and one grandchild, Jennifer Row of Flagstaff, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Cliff Lane Ellis; and sister Elvia Higgerson and brother Ray Ellis.
Pallbearers were Steve Watters, John Willabay, Bill Lyons, Gary Bringman, Mike Ellis and Randy Ramsey. Honorary pallbearers were Walter Grimes, James Wallace and Chad Wallace.
