George Ferguson

Funeral services for George Ferguson of Soper were held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 15, 2005, at Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel in Hugo with Reverend Roger Barnes officiating. Interment was in Soper Cemetery.
Mr. Ferguson died Tuesday, September 13, 2005, in Soper. He was 91.
George Alonzo Ferguson was born on November 26, 1913 in Soper, Okla., to Albert Alonzo and Amelia (Gardener) Ferguson. George married Mary Holt, his wife of seventy-five years on April 17, 1930. He was a painter and a rancher and had lived in this area all of his life, except for approximately ten years that he lived and worked in Wichita Falls, Texas. He moved back to Soper in 1962. He was a member of the Methodist Church and he will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Kenneth Ferguson in 1997; one grandson, Matias Espinosa in 1996; one grand-daughter-in-law, Donna Dominick in 2002; two brothers, Roy and Scott Ferguson; three sisters, Ethyl Ferguson Jones, Maxine Ferguson Lindsay and Cleo “Babe” Fennell.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ferguson of the home; three daughters, Georgiana Ferguson of Hugo, Barbara Ferguson Dominick and Judy Ferguson Lester and husband, Delbert of Soper; seven grandchildren, Jim and Dayna Dominick of Soper, Martin Lester, Shannon Lester and Carey Lester, all of Soper, Debbie Ferguson Espinosa of Plano, Texas, Ken Ferguson, Jr., of Dallas, Texas; eleven great-grandchildren, Amy Dominick Padgett and husband, Clay of Germany, Stephanie Espinosa of Dallas, Texas, Leslie Dominick of Shawnee, Ted Richards, II, of Paris, Texas, George Richards of Soper, Brittani Lester, Dakota Lester and Tanner Lester, all of Antlers, Merissa Lester, Jamee Lester and Treyton Lester, all of Soper; one daughter-in-law, Vera Ferguson of Dallas, Texas.
The family received friends on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel.
