Martin Walter Gillispie

Martin Walter Gillispie, 68, of Carrollton, Texas, died Saturday afternoon, October 1, 2005, while surrounded by his family. Mr. Gillispie was born November 17, 1936 in Narden, Oklahoma to Alva and Ursa Gillispie. He married Haljean Gillispie in 1959 in Ponca City, Oklahoma, served his country in the United States Army and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Lewisville, Texas where he served the church as a Sunday school teacher, vacation Bible school teacher, Awana teacher and Deacon. He was also a member of the Gideon Bible Society. Martin is survived by his wife, Haljean Gillispie of Carrollton; sons, Walter “Wally” Gillispie and wife, Sherri and Steven Gillispie and wife, Tracie; sisters, JoAn Beemer of Windsor, Missouri and Doris Gillispie of Buffalo, Missouri; brothers, David Gillispie of Nixa, Missouri, John, George and Joe Gillispie all of Buffalo, Missouri; grandchildren, Allon, Arie, Morgan and Trevor. Martin was preceded in death by his parents, Alva and Ursa Gillispie. A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2005 at Trinity Baptist Church in Lewisville, Texas. A private interment will occur at a later date. The family received friends and relatives from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Monday evening at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville.
