Eugene “Gene” Green Sr.

Funeral services for Eugene “Gene” Green, Sr., of Hugo, were held at 2 p.m. September 17, 2005,at Miller & Miller Funeral Home Chapel in Hugo with Bro. Jessie Babcock officiating. Interment was in Sawyer Cemetery.

Mr. Green died September 14, 2005, in Paris, Texas. He was 74. He was a carpenter and member of Springs Chapel Baptist Church.

Gene was born September 5, 1931 in Chickasha, Okla., the son of Joe H. and Aliza Amos (McCall) Green. He had lived in Hugo for over 55 years. He was an excellent woodworker. He enjoyed sitting back and watching TV, raising Chow dogs, building guns, and loved traveling. He was also an avid coon hunter. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; Helen Drew (Stanfield) Green, and one brother; Eunice “Doc” Green.

SURVIVING RELATIVES: two sons; Gene Green, Jr. of Hugo, and Michael Green of Athens, Texas, one sister; Lorene Carr of Hugo, one granddaughter along with other family and friends.

The family will receive friends September 16, 2005 from 6-7 p.m. in the funeral home.
