Emma Wesson

WOLFE CITY - Born Emma Frances Perry on Jan. 22, 1948, in Little Rock, Ark., she was the daughter of Richard Taylor and Bessie Nelson Perry. The Perrys moved from Arkansas to Texas in 1954 where Emma spent 35 years. She moved near Boswell, Okla., in 1989 with her husband. She died Sept. 18, 2005, at Paris Regional Medical Center hospital in Paris.
Emma was awarded a bachelor of arts degree from Texas Women’s University with certification as a secondary math and English teacher. She worked in development and maintenance of computer systems with Texas Instruments until she left in 1989 to become a full-time production potter and rancher.
She is survived by her husband, Hal Wesson, whom she called the “love of her life;” two stepchildren, Ken Wesson and Carity Wesson; and Paige Nicole, her first grandchild. On her mother’s side two cousins survive her, Marty Dyal of Denton and Laura Lowe of Scottsboro, Ala.; and on her father’s side, Mary Jane Taylor of Little Rock, Ark., and many, many more.
Services were conducted Sept. 21, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. at the chapel of Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City.
R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home of Wolfe City is in charge of arrangements.
