John Garner Dies At Goodland Home
Was Pioneer Farmer Of Choctaw County

John Henry Garner, pioneer Choctaw county farmer, died at his home South of Goodland at 11:30 a.m. today following an illness that began about a year ago. He had been seriously ill for more than a week.
Funeral arrangements, which will be under the direction of the Snow Funeral home, had not been completed at press time.
Garner had been a resident of this county many years and was looked upon as one of the most substantial citizens of his community and the county. He was born January 28, 1872.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Mrs. John Tyler of Idabel and Mrs. H.O. Twitty, of Bethney, Oklahoma; and four sons, Luther of Emerson, Texas; Leo, of Fort Knox, Ky., Percy and Jack, both of Goodland.
Garner Services To Be Thursday

Funeral services for John Garner, Goodland farmer, will be held at the Goodland Church at 2 p.m. Thursday, with the Rev. E.D. Miller and R.J. Howse officiating. Snow funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
Bearers will be: Carl McDonald, Wallace Hill, Jim Hughes, Jess Crews, Will Tyler and John McDaniels.
Garner died at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday following an illness of more than a week. He had been in poor health for more than a year.
He is survived by his wife two daughters and four sons.
