Arch Jordon Dies At Home Near Apple
Heart Stroke Takes Well Known Farmer
The Hugo Daily News October 11, 1939 – transcribed by Ron Henson

     Arch Jordan [sic], 53 year old farmer of the Apple community, died at his home Tuesday night as the result of a heart stroke. He had been in apparent good health until the fatal stroke.

     Funeral services were conducted at the Oak Lawn church in the Messer community this afternoon, burial following in the Messer cemetery. The Campbell Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

     Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Edgar and Floyd Jordan and two daughters, mrs. Alice Smith and Mrs. Nathan Crum, all of the Apple community; one brother, Joe Jordan, of Wills Point, Texas; and four sisters, Mrs. Hallan McInturff, Wills Point, Texas; Mrs. C.W. Jones, Sweetwater, Texas; Mrs. Floyd Winn, and Mrs. Joe Foshee, both of Hugo.
