G.W. Van Dies At Home Here
Operated Grist Mill Many Years

G.W. Van, owner of Van’s Grist Mill, died late Tuesday at his home, 702 South K street, following an illness of long duration. He had been in bad health more than a year and was critically ill several weeks.
Funeral services were to be held this afternoon at the Clayton Avenue Baptist church, under the direction of the Snow Funeral Home, with the Rev. J.B. Ward officiating. Burial was scheduled to be in Springs Chapel cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Martha Van; one daughter, Mrs. L.A. Miller, Dallas, Texas; one son, J.B. Van, Hugo; two sisters, Mrs. Ella Daffern, Dublin, Texas, and Mrs. Harry Thompson, Sulphur Springs, Texas; and one brother, J.R. Van, of Yuma, Arizona.
Mr. Van has operated a grist mill in Choctaw county for more than a score of years. He numbered among his friends and acquaintances almost all of the old timers in the section. He was born April 1, 1855, in Tennessee and came to his section of the United States while a young man.
His grandsons were to act as pall bearers.
