Graveside services for Marjorie S. Simpson of Guthrie, formerly of Hugo, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2004, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, with Rev. Oscar Wilkie officiating.
Mrs. Simpson died Friday, September 17, 2004, in Guthrie. She was 87.
Marjorie Edyth Simpson was born on February 27, 1917 in Tryon, Okla., to William Walter and Edythe (Bernard) Scott. Marjorie had lived in this area before moving to Guthrie. She married John Edgar Simpson in 1938 in Shreveport, La. She was a supervisor in the insurance industry and belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary of Eagles. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John and one brother.
She is survived by: Two sisters, Bertie Tinsley and Jessie Mae Payne, both of Guthrie; and one sister-in-law, Billie Simpson of Hugo.
