Catherine King

Funeral services for Catherine King of Soper were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 25, 2005, in Boswell First Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Harless officiating, assisted by Rev. David Watkins. Interment was in Restland Cemetery in Boswell.
Mrs. King died Monday, August 22, 2005, in Durant. She was 83.Catherine King was born on October 6, 1921 in Bryan County to Harvey and Irene (Butcher) Taylor. She married Wilburn Record “Bollie” King on November 21, 1945 in Hugo. She had lived in this area since 1930 after moving here from Texas. She was a homemaker and a member of the Soper Baptist Church in Soper. She will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Bollie King; two brothers, J.D. Taylor and L.Z. Taylor; one sister, Oneta Harrelson; one son, Wayne King; one daughter, Loretta; one half brother, Marshall; three half sisters, Opal, Helen and Mable; and one granddaughter.Catherine is survived by one son, Doyle King of Boswell; two daughters, Linda Kelso of Boswell and Betty Parsons of Kalaska, Mich.; one brother, Johnny Taylor of Hugo; five sisters, Wanda Ainsworth of Boswell, Laura Cheek of Broken Bow, Sena James of Hugo, Nora Adams of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and Sally Rogers of Penn Valley, Calif.; nine grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
The family received friends Wednesday, August 24, 2005, at Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel in Hugo.
