Gladys Moore

Funeral services for Gladys Moore of Bennington were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2005, at Bennington Baptist Church with Reverend Neil O’Donnell officiating. Interment was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo.

Mrs. Moore died Wednesday, August 31, 2005 in Bokchito. She was 79.

Gladys Beatrice Moore was born on April 14, 1926 in Leola, Arkansas to John William and Sarah Louanny (Lingo) Lemons. She married Clarence Calvin “Chock” Moore on January 13, 1945 in Durant, Okla. She had lived in Soper until moving to California in 1945 and returning home to Bennington in 1987 where she remained until her death. Because of her love of children and her desire to care for her own family, she had a home child care center. Over a period of 20 years, she cared for over forty children, some of whom she was still in contact with at the time of her death. She was a homemaker, a member of the First Baptist Church in Bennington, Okla. and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Clarence “Chock” Moore; one sister, Dovie Short and two brothers, Bill Lemons and Everett Lemons. Gladys is survived by two sons, Johnny Carl Moore of Crowley, Texas and Ronald Calvin Moore of Perris, Calif.; one daughter, Chryl Ann Lemke of Bennington, Okla.; two sisters Elsie Bell and Ann Walker; fifteen grandchildren, Mike Moore, Dawn Moore, Ronnie Moore, Alicia Adams, Christine Lake, Chris Angdahl, Valerie Marble, Stacy Hutchens, Sarah Moore, Lindsay Moore, Chryl McWilliams, Jennifer Hicks, Ronnie Schied, Stena Brewer, Brenda Hagerty and Davy Lemke; twenty-seven great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones and a special family, Jeannie Lane, Karrie, Mark, Shea and Skyler

Parker.Family received friends on Monday, September 5, 2005 at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel.
