Mrs. Nellie Atkins Died Saturday

Mrs. Nellie Atkins, aged 52 years, wife of Ernest Atkins, died at the family home here Saturday morning about 6 o’clock following an extended illness. Cause of death was given as cancer.
Funeral services were held at the Soper Baptist Church Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, conducted by Rev. H.W. Young, pastor. The body was taken to her old home, Dardanele, Ark., for burial, Monday.
Mrs. Atkins was born at Dardanele, Ark., and was married to Ernest Atkins in 1907. They moved to Soper in 1911 and have since resided here where she had many friends who are grieved to learn of her death. She was a Christian woman, having been a member of the Baptist church for many years.
Besides her husband she is survived by brothers and sisters as follows: John and Charlie Cox, Little Rock, Ark.; Henry, Fred and Miss Leora Cox, and Mrs. Myrtle McKinzie, Dardanele, Ark., and Mrs. Minnie Morrison, of Canada.
Mr. and Mrs. Payton Atkins, of Elk City, Okla., were here for the funeral.
