Mrs. Phoebe Hendrix Victim of Stroke
The Soper Democrat – March 5, 1942

Mrs. Phoebe Hendrix, aged 76 years, died Saturday afternoon at her home south of the railroad. She was stricken Friday afternoon and never regained conciousness [sic]. Funeral services were held at the family home Sunday afternoon conducted by Rev. H.W. Young, followed by interment in the Shoat Springs Cemetery, beside her husband, who passed away in 1925.
Mrs. Hendrix had been living in Soper with her son, O.A. Hendrix, move here in 1931 from Madill. She and her husband came to this section from Arkansas in 1905, settling near Shoat Springs.
She is survived by two sons and two daughters. O.A. Hendrix, Soper, J.A. Hendrix, Clayton, Mrs. May Lumpkin, Goodland, and Mrs. Effie Billings, Farris, Okla. She is also survived by two brothers and two sisters.
