E.F. Morgan Died Tuesday
The Soper Democrat – March 19, 1942

E.F. Morgan, aged 69 years, died at the Sanitarium of Paris, Tuesday morning at 9:20 o’clock, of pneumonia. Funeral services were held at the Soper Church of Christ Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock, conducted by E.C. McKinzie, former Hugo Church of Christ minister, assisted by Attorney R.H. Stanley. Burial was in the Boswell Cemetery beside a daughter who died a number of years ago.
Mr. Morgan suffered an attack of influenza on February 8th, which was followed by pneumonia.
Pallbearers were: W.P. Patterson, E.M. DeWeese, and Griggs, Grant, J.B. Walling and Barrett Fellows of Hugo, Joel Woodie Nelson, Soper.
Mr. Morgan taught school for more than 25 years. He moved to Boswell in 1918, and to Hugo in 1936. After a short residence there he moved to Soper, where for the past several years was subscription solicitor for the Southeast Oklahoman, Hugo.
Surviving him are his wife and two daughters, Mrs. W.W. Hawthore, of Grant, and Miss Edythe Morgan, of Dallas, a grandson, Bill Hawthore, of Grant, two brothers, John Morgan, of Boswell, and O.B. Morgan, of Fort Smith, Ark.
Mr. Morgan was know [sic] as a good man and the many friends of the family deeply sympathize with them in their sorrow.
