A.M. Spear Buried At Boswell Sunday

Funeral services were held at the Nazarene Church in Boswell, Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock for A.M. Spear, 69 year old farmer-stockman and former Choctaw County sheriff. Rev. Merlin Bridge, the pastor, officiated. Masonic services were held at the graveside. Interment was in the Boswell Cemetery.
Mr. Spear died Friday at the University hospital in Oklahoma City after a long illness. He was born in Bowling Green, Ky., Oct. 2, 1878, and had lived in this county since statehood. He is the only Republican ever elected sheriff in Choctaw County.
Survivors are his wife and nine children, Jack Speak and Miss Eva Spear of Boswell; O.V. Spear, Ray Spear, Edmond Spear and Albert Spear, Mrs. John Roach and Miss Edna Spear, all of Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. C.E. Dibble, of Dallas; two brothers, W.C. Spear, Wellington, Texas; three sisters, mrs. J.W. Matthews, Boswell; Mrs. R.O. Hindman, Dallas; Mrs. JR. Collard, Houston, and eight grandchildren.
Mr. Spear lived in Soper about 20 years ago.
