Owen McClain

Hugo, Ok- Owen "Abe" McClain, 82 of Grant, died Thursday, Oct.23, 1997. In McCuistion Regional Medical Center in Paris.
He was a rancher, farmer, and mechanic and was a member of the Grant Baptist Church. He was born Sept. 10, 1915, in Plainview, Texas, a son of William Oliver McClain and Julia Ann (Leonard) McClain. He moved with his family to Sawyer, then to Messer, spent most of his life in Choctaw County residing in Grant 27 years. He married Mary Francis Clark in Spencerville feb.20, 1943.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Miller and Miller Funeral Home of Hugo. Funeral services will be at 2p.m. Tuesday in Sawyer Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Oliver McClain, brothers Otis McClain and Lewis McClain, one sister Ann Pearson.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters Sue Wall of Messer, Linda Martinez of Soper, Sandra Copeland off Ell Mont, Texas, and Debra Robinson of Hugo. seven sons; James Owen McClain of Soper, Carroll McClain of Grant, Jerry McClain of Powderly, Gary McClain , Kenneth McClain, Robert McClain and Neal McClain all of Grant. two brothers, Art McClain of Selado, Texas, and Lester McClain of Monrovia, Ca.; two sisters Mildred Howell and Mamie Guthrie of Pasadena, Ca. 29 grandchildren, and 8 g grandchildren
