Elva Lee Davis (courtesy of the Hugo Daily News - used with permission) Services for Elva Lee Davis were held Monday, Jan. 26, 2004 at 11 a.m. in the Fourth & Jackson Street Church of Christ in Hugo. Elva Lee died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2004 in El Paso, Texas. She was 92. Elva was born Dec. 11, 1911 in San Saba, Texas, to William and Martha E. (Holland) Maxwell. She married William Daniel Davis on May 13, 1937 in Coalgate, Okla. Elva was a retired home economics teacher and was a former resident of Hugo. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William Daniel Davis, on May 17, 1975; three brothers: Cecil Maxwell, Lloyd Maxwell and Marshall Maxwell. Elva is survived by two sons: William David Davis of El Paso, Texas, and Kenneth Lloyd Davis, of Moore, Okla.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Burial followed the service in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, under the direction of Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home of Hugo.
