George Wheeler McDaniel

Mr. George Wheeler McDaniel, 85, of Kilgore, Texas, died Wednesday, June 22, 2005, at the Willows in Kilgore, Texas. Mr. McDaniel was a retired machine operator in the oilfield industry and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of the VFW of Hugo and former member of the Masonic Lodge. He was born February 2, 1920 in Dewitt, Ark., to the late Josiah McDaniel and the late Margaret (Kestner) McDaniel. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Anel Evelyn (Elmore) McDaniel; two sons, Ken D. McDaniel of Gladewater, Texas and Gary McDaniel of Parish, Fla.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Beaty Funeral Home, Hawkins, Texas, where the family received friends from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, June 26, 2005. Funeral service was held at Gladewater Memorial Park at 11 a.m. Monday, June 27, 2005, with Rev. Robert Besser officiating. Interment was at Gladewater Memorial Park in Gladewater, Texas.
