Ellis F. Midkiff

Ellis F. Midkiff, better known as “Frank", was born on October 10, 1947 in Richmond, Virginia. He has been a resident of Midlothian, Texas for the last 27 years, where he has come to know many. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 6 years and was a veteran of the Vietnam conflict. He has been a loyal employee of The Dallas Morning News for the last 23 years, where he was a rackshop technician. He was the loving father of two children, Michael E. Midkiff and Stacy D. Murr and had an honorary daughter, Amber D. Sheffield, whom he loved as his own. His ex-wife and mother of his children, Mary R. Crumpton, has remained his best friend throughout the years. All of those who have had their lives touched by knowing him, remember him by his big belly laughs, his smiling eyes and detailed stories of his adventures as a young man. Frank also leaves behind two brothers, Robert E. Midkiff, Jr. and Steven R. Midkiff, as well as a sister, Susan M. Dodson. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Midkiff, Sr., his mother, Virgie D. Midkiff and two infant sisters. After a long and arduous battle with cancer, he passed away in his home on Wednesday, June 22, 2005 among his family and dearest friends. He was laid to rest in Goodland Cemetery in Goodland, Oklahoma on Sunday, June 26, 2005. Many will miss him.
