Hazel Parnell

    Funeral services for Hazel Parnell of Hugo were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2005, at Bill Darrough Pavilion at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo with Rev. Kay Buchanan officiating. Interment was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

    Mrs. Parnell died Thursday, May 19, 2005, in Hugo. She was 89.Hazel Parnell was born in Hobert, Okla., to Oliver and Beatrice (Hathaway) Norwood. She married Robert Parnell on June 9, 1937 in Hugo. She had lived in this area all of her life and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She had worked for 12 years for Choctaw County and 28 years for Civil Service. Hazel was a member of the Garden Club, various bridge clubs and the First United Methodist Church Women's Circle. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Parnell, and one son, James Oliver Parnell.

    She is survived by her son, Lynn Parnell of Hugo; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
