Effie "Sister" Rogers

Funeral services for Effie "Sister" Rogers of Hugo were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 29, 2005, at Miller & Miller Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mutt Wallace officiating. Interment was in Springs Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Rogers died May 26, 2005, in Hugo. She was 96. She was a laundress in the hospital and was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church.
She was born August 30, 1908 in Hugo, the daughter of John Rogers and Onie (Ward) Rogers and had lived most of her life in Hugo. She enjoyed visiting and was willing to give advice. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister; Pauline Hunter and 1 brother; Preston McIntyre and 1 niece; Ramona Dombeo.
SURVIVING RELATIVES: 8 nephews; Charles "Beaver" McIntrye of Albuquerque, N.M., Vanard McIntyre of Bloomfield, N.M., David Hunter, Doyle Hunter, Jimmie Hunter, and Jerry Hunter all of Hugo, Bill Hunter of Stringtown, and Howard Hunter of Dallas, 2 nieces; Judy Campbell and Pat Thompson both of Hugo,, a host of great nieces and nephews.
Family received friends, Saturday, May 28, 2005 from 5-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
