Don "Sonny" Scrivner

DENISON, Texas - Memorial services for Don "Sonny" Scrivner were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2005, at Alpha and Omega Community Baptist Church with Rev. James Thorne officiating.
Mr. Scrivner died Saturday, May 28, 2005, at Texoma Medical Center. He was 72. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a lifetime member of the VFW.
Mr. Scrivner was born on June 11, 1932 in Bristow, Okla., to Jody B. and B. Opal Beardsley Scrivner. He graduated from Altamont High School in Altamont, Ill. He married Leah Coleman on October 22, 1960 in Reno, Nev. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Chelsea Coleman Canada.
Surviving relatives: Wife, Leah Scrivner of Denison, Texas; mother, B. Opal Scrivner of Effingham, Ill.; daughters, Ginger Swan of Lafayette, La., Donna Stephens of Dallas, Elizabeth Scrivner of Denison; sister, Betty Jo Evans of Altamont, Ill.
The family suggests memorials be made to the local VFW.
