Jurline West

Jurline West, 78, Valliant, Okla., passed away May 30, 2005, at Paris, Texas. Born April 28, 1927, in Rufe, Okla., to Ada (Davis) Stroup and Russell Stroup, she was a lifetime resident of the Valliant area.
She was a retired teacher, having taught at O'Burwell, Swink and Wright City schools, where she taught home economics for many years. Mrs. West was a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert "Sport" West.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Reta and Charles Jones of Idabel and three grandchildren, Steffan Jones and wife Dion and Trentan Jones and Natalie Jones, all of Norman, Okla.; two great grandchildren, Blake and Taylor Jones of Norman, Okla.; and a sister, Geneva Womack, of Wright City.
Funeral services were at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 2, 2005 at First Baptist Church, Valliant, with the Rev. Jim Vandiver, pastor of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, officiating, assisted by Gordon Ogden, Dallas, Texas. Interment was in Moran Cemetery.
Family visitation was held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home, Valliant.
Arrangements were under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home, Valliant.
