Funeral Services for H. A. Babb To Be Held Sunday

    Last rites for Hubbard A. Babb will be held on Sunday, February 19 at 2:30 P. M. at the First Methodist Church with Reverend Littleton Fowler, Assisted By Reverend J. C. Segier, officiating, and interment in the Mount Olivet Cemetery.
    Campbell Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
    Mr. Babb passed away at 9:30 P.M. Thursday,. February 16 of a heart ailment suffered at his hone at 501 South 2nd Street.
    Mr. Babb was born at Cassville, Missouri on January 23, 1881, thus being 69 years old at the time of his death. He was the son of Joseph W. and Susan C. Babb.
    He moved to Grant in 1900 thus being one of the pioneer citizens of Choctaw County. While living at Grant, he married the former Mrs. Lillie Bird in 1907 and they moved to Hugo in 1908.
    Mr. Babb was in the real estate business and was an active leader in the Republican Party in this section. He was appointed Hugo Postmaster when Warren G. Harding was President of the United Sates. The appointment was made in 1922. Mr. Babb served under President Calvin Coolidge and President Herbert Hoover retiring from the position in 1933, at which time he was relieved by Hugh Johnson, a Franklin D. Roosevelt appointee.
    He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lillie Babb of the home address; two sisters, Mrs. T. A. Marbut, Hugo and Mrs. Manton Nelson, Grant, along with a number of nieces and nephews.
    Pallbearers will be: Robert Lee Houser, Carl Askew, Carl Hansen, W.H. Andrews, Bill Blair and John Hoffman.
