Perry C. Griffith

    Funeral services for Perry C. Griffith were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2005, at First Baptist Church in Hugo with Rev. Doug McClure officiating. Interment was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Mr. Griffith died Thursday, March 24, 2005, in Hugo. He was 96.
    Perry C. Griffith was born on February 27, 1909 in Hugo, Ok to Dr. Walter W. and Linnie (Ward) Griffith. He married Alma Dell Howser in Hugo on January 3, 1952. Perry lived in Hugo all of his life. He worked as the area manager for the Dr. Pepper and Coca-Cola Company; he served his country in the Navy. Perry was a member of the First Baptist Church where he taught Sunday school for 9-10 year old children for twenty-five years. Perry drove the church bus for years and never missed a Sunday at church. If Perry was not at church, you knew he was sick. He loved to hunt, fish and work in his yard; he made a vegetable garden most every year. Perry loved to watch football on TV and was an OSU fan. Perry was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Walter and Frank Griffith. He is survived by his wife Alma Dell of the home; a sister-in-law and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Perry will truly be miss by all that knew & loved him.
