Graveside services for Matthew Carl Hensley of Hugo were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2005, in Grant Cemetery with Bro. Mutt Wallace officiating.
Mr. Hensley died March 5, 2005, in Norman. He was 84. He was a heavy equipment operator and was of the Christian faith.
Mr. Hensley was born January 16, 1921 in Arkansas, the son of Oliver Lee Hensley and Willie Mae (Tomlinson) Hensley and had lived in the Hugo community most of his life. He loved hunting and trapping, he enjoyed spending time in the woods. He was more at home in the woods than anywhere. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son; Dennis Dan Hensley, four sisters; Elmaudie Potts, Irene Matlock, Viola Gose, and Hattie Rickett, two brothers; George Hensley and Daniel Porter Hensley.
Survivors: Five sons: Jimmy Ray Hensley of Mena, Ark., Waymon Hensley of Datil, N.M., Carl Hensley, Jr. of Hobbs, N.M., Daniel Hensley of Tulsa, and Donnie Hensley of Tulsa; one daughter; Deborah Darlene of Tulsa; two sisters; Auddie Totty of Hugo and Louise Parker of Lone Grove; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family received friends Monday, March 7, 2005, at the funeral home.
