William Record "Bollie" King

William Record "Bollie" King passed away on March 2, 2005 in Durant at the age of 84. He was born May 6, 1920 to John F. and Louise (Shumate) King in Virgil. He married Catherine Tayor on November 21, 1945 in Hugo. Bollie was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He served his country in the Army during World War II. Bollie was a farmer and rancher who loved taking care of his cattle and land. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Willard & Willis King; three sisters, Ethal Upton, Essie Higgenbotham and Evelyn Pate; one daughter, Loretta King and one son, Wayne King. Bollie is survived by his wife, Catherine of the home; one son, Doyle King of Boswell; two daughters, Betty Parsons of Kalkaska, Mich. and Linda Kelso of Boswell; nine grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Bollie will truly be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Services were held Saturday, March 5, 2005 in the First Baptist Church in Boswell with the Reverend Greg Hammack and Reverend Dave Watkins officiating. Interment was in the Restland Cemetery in Boswell. Visitation was held Friday, March 4, 2005 at the funeral home.
