Wayne Day

Graveside services for Wayne Day of Ft. Towson were held at 1 p.m. May 17, 2005, in Spencerville Cemetery, with Pastor Chuck Darby officiating, assisted by Michael Wayne Day.
Mr. Day died May 14, 2005, at his home in Ft. Towson. He was 76. He was a retired construction worker and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Spirit Rock Church of Millerton where he served as an Elder.
Wayne Day was born November 11, 1928 in Grassland, Texas the son of James Virgil Day and Zora Janette (Alfred) Day. He lived in the Fort Towson community for over 35 years. He married Judy Vaughan on March 24, 1964 in Arlington, Texas. Wayne loved watching NASCAR and was a huge fan of Jeff Gordon. He also enjoyed gardening, spending time with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed going to his grandson's ball games. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Zelma Louise Childress.
SURVIVING RELATIVES: His wife: Judy Day; two daughters; Terrie Hagler of Matthews, N.C. and Robbie Havens of Indian Trail, N.C., four sons Derick Day and Verlon "Splinter" Day, both of Ft. Towson,, Michael Day of Joliet, Ill. and Wyndle Day of Grand Prairie, Texas; two brothers; Doye Day of Muskogee and Jerry Day of Fort Worth, Texas; 15 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Family received friends, Monday, May 16, 2005 from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
