Memorial services for William Edward Whiteley of Oleta were held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 13, 2005, in the Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Pete Green officiating. Mr. Whiteley died May 11, 2005, in Hugo. He was 53.William was born on January 28, 1952 in Napa, Calif., to Jesse James Whiteley and Althea Henretta Conan Whiteley. He lived in this area for the past year, coming from Ft. Worth, Texas. William was married to Linda R. (Reynolds) Whiteley. He was a retired truck driver for Therma Foam, Inc. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force in Thailand and Vietnam as a mechanic. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the VFW-NAPA, and enjoyed NASCAR and fishing. William enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
William is survived by his wife, Linda Whiteley of the home; step-son, Shane Hightower of Oleta; step-daughters, Joael Ward of Hurst, Texas and Alesha Ann Adamson of Ft. Worth, Texas; brother, Jimmy Whiteley of El Dorado, Calif.; sisters, Ginger Chaney of Napa, Calif. and Margaret Kemp of southern California; three grandchildren.
