Funeral services for Helen Daniels of Scroggins, Texas, were held at 2:00 p.m. May 3, 2005, at Valliant Church of God in Valliant, Oklahoma, with Bro. Jim Boyte officiating, assisted by Bro. Rick Patterson. Interment was in Valliant Cemetery - Valliant, Oklahoma.

Mrs. Daniels died April 30, 2005, in Mount Vernon, Texas. She was 66. She was a homemaker and member of New Hope Baptist Church in Scroggins, Texas.

She was born August 20, 1938 in Detroit, Texas, the daughter of Willie Petty and Viola (Horton) Petty. She grew up in the Valliant, Oklahoma area and had lived for over 20 years in Scroggins, Texas. Helen loved playing bingo, playing with her grandchildren and spending time with her family and friends. She married George Daniels on March 26, 1955 in Hugo, Oklahoma. They had recently celebrated their 50th anniversary.

SURVIVING RELATIVES: her husband: George Daniels, three sons: Larry Daniels of Scroggins, Texas, Ronald "Red" Daniels of Mesquite, Texas, and George "Jr." Daniels, of Balch Springs, Texas, one daughter: Sonya Clements of Balch Springs, Texas, four brothers: Harry Petty of Scroggins, Texas, James Petty of Mesquite, Texas, Bill Petty of Valliant, Oklahoma and Stanley Harrison of Ft. Worth, Texas; two sisters: Pauline Harrison of Waco, Texas, and Ernie Ruth Fipps of Springtown, Texas, 10 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Family received friends Tuesday, May 2, 2005 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
