Nona Goodson of Ft. Towson died April 26, 2005, in Paris, Texas. She was 82.A tribute to Nona's life was held from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2005 at the Ft. Towson Community Center - Ft. Towson, Okla..

Mrs. Goodson was born November 7, 1922 in Texarkana, Arkansas, the daughter of Ivy F. Butler and Lorena Grace (Sanders) Butler. She grew up in Texarkana and had lived in Ft. Towson since 1975. Nona was a well-known local artist having painted several murals in the area. Some of her work included the old Post Office building in Ft. Towson, the Ft. Towson Community Center, Ft. Towson Elementary School, painting of Tigers for Ft. Towson School, and paintings at the Old Fort near Ft. Towson. She was also a Riveter on airplanes during World War II. She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Andrew Goodson.

SURVIVING RELATIVES: three daughters: Delilah Dillingham of Fulton, Missouri, Marie Kincaid of Red Oak, Texas and Rebecca Goodson of Ft. Towson, Okla.; her classmate, best friend, and step mother: Melba Attaway Butler of Texarkana, Texas; two brothers: Charles Carroll of Albuquerque, N.M. and Steve Vance Butler, Sr. of Colorado Springs, Colorado; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
