Services for Obie Lawine Freeman, of Hugo, were at 2 p.m. Jan. 30, 2003 at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Chapel in Hugo. The Rev. Hershel Reed officiated the ceremony. He was assisted by the Rev. Raymond Humphries. Interment followed at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo.
The family received friends from 6-7 p.m. Jan. 29, 2003 at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Chapel in Hugo.
Obie Lawine Freeman died Jan. 26, 2003 in Hugo. She was 84.
Obie Lawine Freeman was born June 7, 1918 in Texas to Stephen Ollie and Pearl (Ursery) Kelley. She had lived in Hugo for the past 63 years. She married Clarence Freeman in Durant Nov. 12, 1933. Obie was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; her parents; and one brother, O.V. Kelley.
She is survived by one son, Bob Kelley & wife Linda of Rattan; one daughter, Janelle Hammons & husband Will of Hugo; four grandchildren, Lorie & David Schrader of Dallas, Ron & Rochelle Hammons of Carrollton, Texas, John & Lisa Hammons of Hugo and Michael & Sandy Kelley of Durant; seven great-grandchildren; Trent Hammons of Hugo, Lauren Conor & Josh Hammons of Carrollton, Texas; Jordon & Anna Schrader of Dallas and Patrick Kelley of Durant.
Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home in Hugo handled the funeral arrangements.
