Services for Ruth Glenn were at 10 a.m. Sept. 3 at the First Christian Church in Hugo. The Rev. Beverly Bradley officiated the ceremony. Internment followed at Mt. Olivet cemetery.
Ruth died Aug. 29, 2002 at her home in Hugo. She was 64.
Ruth Elizabeth Glenn was born Oct. 23, 1937 in Soper to Edward and Viola (Antwine) Popchoke. She graduated in the class of 1955 from Columbia High School in White Salmon, Wash.
She moved to Hugo in 1955, worked at the Peoples Store for nine years and then worked for Hugo Schools for the past 35 years. She was a member of the St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.
Ruth was preceded in death by two sisters; Lillian Harris and Wanda Marshall and one brother; Cletus Popchoke.
She is survived by two daughters; Gina Self of Hugo and Shelley Sauer of Durant; one sister, Berneice Biesanz of White Salmon, Wash.; one brother, Lyndol Popchoke of Tyler, Texas; three grandsons; Ryan Self, Hugo, Brandon Self and his wife Deanna of Hugo and Nicholas Dees of Durant; one great-grandson, Jackson Charles Self of Hugo and one great-grandaughter, Breanna Payte Self of Hugo.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or to your own church, in memory of Ruth Glenn.
