Services for Russell Elmer Hamm, of Hugo, were at 2 p.m. Jan. 9, 2003 at the Mt. Olive Funeral Home Chapel in Hugo. The Rev. Bennie Hammons officiated the ceremony. Internment followed at the Fort Towson Cemetery.

Russell Elmer Hamm died Jan. 4, 2003 in at his home in Hugo. He was 62.

Russell Elmer Hamm was born Oct. 1, 1940 in Ontanogan, Mich. to Russell Judson and Lillian (Blankenship) Hamm.
He moved to this area nine years ago from Santa Cruz, Calif. He worked as a restaurant owner, music store owner and realtor. He loved music, home renovation, being outdoors from the ocean to the mountains, and most of all, being with his family.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Hamm.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Marie & Kirk MacDonald of Lakeport, Calif.; one son, Steve Hamm of Santa Cruz, Calif.; his father, Russ Hamm, Sr. of Bullhead City, Ariz.; one brother and sister-in-law, Chuck & Joan Hamm of Capitola, Calif.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Darlene & Al Sporman of Pahrump, Nev. and Rose & Jim Christenson of Santa Cruz, Calif.; one sister, Sheryl Wilson of Bullhead City, Ariz.; two granddaughters, Ashley MacDonald of Lakeport, Calif. and Tiffany Logan of Santa Cruz, Calif.; his special nephew, who was like a son to Russ, Leo Melero of Pahrump, Nev.; six nieces, Terri, Valerie, Lynee’, Tammy, Tracy and Michelline; three nephews, Alan, Vance and Michael and numerous grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

The Mt. Olive Funeral Home in Hugo handled the funeral arrangements.
