Stella Hammock

Services for Stella Hammock, of Soper, were at 2 p.m. Feb. 20, 2003 at Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel in Hugo. Bro. Joe Maple officiated the ceremony. Interment followed at the Soper cemetery.

Stella Mae Hammock died Feb. 17, 2003 in Hugo. She was 102.

Stella Mae Hammock was born May 15, 1900 in Stephenville, Texas to Charlie and Jennie (Yeargin) Holt. She had lived in the Soper community for most of her life. She married Wiley Hammock in 1916. Stella was a retired school teacher and a member of the Soper Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wiley Hammock, Sr. in 1968; her parents; one son, Wiley Hammock, Jr. and one daughter, Estell Fennell.

Stella will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by two sons, David Hammock and Jerry Hammock, both of Soper; one daughter, Ruby Fern Lewis of San Diego, Calif.; one sister, Mary Ferguson of Soper; ten grandchildren, Jack Fennell of Mississippi, Ronnie Hammock of Soper, Sammie Davidson of Hugo, Jenny Lewis of Claremore, Denise Delaney of Sapulpa, Dennis Hammock of Tulsa, Mary Hammock of Soper, Cindy Garcia of San Diego, Calif., Nancy Roberts of Wichita Falls, Texas and Shirley Spaulding of South Carolina.

Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home in Hugo handled the funeral arrangements.
