Lorene Parsons

Services for Lorene Parsons, formerly of Hugo, were at 10 a.m. Aug. 31 at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Mutt Wallace officiated the ceremony. The family received friends at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Chapel from 5-7 p.m. Aug. 30.

Lorene died Aug. 28, 2002 in Longview, Texas. She was 83.

Lorene Parsons was born Dec. 21, 1918 in Gum Creek to J.D. and Lillie (Postman) Smith. She married Owen Parsons, Sr. and lived in this community from 1940 to 1995 when she moved to Gilmer, Texas.

Lorene was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

She is survived by one son, Owen Parsons, Jr. of Lubbock, Texas; one daughter, Mary Miles of Gilmer, Texas; two brothers, J.L. Smith of Roswell, N.M. and Bill Perrryman of Buena Vista, Mo.; one sister, and Billie James of Little Rock, Ark.
