Services for Betty (Cody) Snead, of Hugo, were at 2 p.m. Jan. 9, 2003 at the Mt. Olive Funeral Home Chapel in Hugo. The Rev. Bennie Simmons officiated the ceremony. Internment followed at the Fort Towson Cemetery.

Betty (Cody) Snead died Jan. 4, 2003 at her home in Hugo. She was 59.

Betty Snead was born March 18, 1943 in Fort Towson to Charles & Mary (Morrison) Cody. She lived most of her life in Choctaw County.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Charlene Cody; and one brother, Leonard Cody.

She is survived by on daughter and son-in-law, Tonya & Jimmy Diggs of Hugo; one son and daughter-in-law, Tracy & Shelby Newton of Redland; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Clay & Shirley Cody of Hugo and Bill & Debbie Cody of Fort Towson; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth & Keith Beagles of Fort Towson and Barbara & Brad Powell of Channing, Texas; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Mt. Olive Funeral Home in Hugo handled the funeral arrangements.
