     Graveside services for Michael Tate of Hugo were held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 26, 2004, at Springs Chapel Cemetery in Hugo with Reverend Mike Armes officiating.
Mr. Tate died Saturday, July 24, 2004, in Hugo. He was 56.
     Michael Tate was born on May 24, 1948 in York, Pennsylvania, to Harold Richard and Lillie Mae (Alder) Tate. He married Ruthie Thomas in Hugo, Oklahoma, on December 18, 1976. Michael had lived in this area for the past forty-eight years and was a member of the Church of Christ. He was a cattleman and worked at the Hugo and Antlers sale barns. He will truly be missed by all that knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold & Lillie Mae Tate.
     He is survived by his wife, Ruthie of the home; one son, Aaron Michael Tate of Commerce, Texas; one daughter, Susan Michelle Tate of Hugo, Okla.; one sister, Barbara Jo Herman and husband, Floyd (Kitten) Herman of Soper, Okla.; several nieces and nephews, Tracy Herman and wife, Candi Herman, Vanessa and Trey Herman; one great-nephew, Pacen "P.W." Herman; one step-niece and nephew, Misty and Daylan; and a special little friend, Taylor "Bubble" Sparks.
     There was a visitation Sunday evening, July 25, 2004, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home chapel in Hugo.
