Shukha Humma
The Choctaw Intelligencer August 14, 1850
transcribed by Ron Henson
Died on Friday night the 5th wit., in consequence of being thrown from a horse, Shukha Humma, a respectable citizen and a worthy member of the Mountain Fork Church. In the old Nation, the deceased held the office of a light-horse-man. And after he removed to this country, he held the office of Inferior Judge, and for some years was a Captain, after the death of the late John Wade.
He was respected by all, and he was much comforted in his last hours by the Gospel of our Saviour, saying, I am happy in God, I wish to go up him.
