Mahata John
The Choctaw Intelligencer December July 25, 1850

Departed this life at the residence of his brotherinlaw Simmitacha, in this vicinity in May last, Mahata [unreadable] John, a Chickasaw aged about 65 years, of inflammation of the bowels, after an illness of two weeks. John is well known in Tuscumba and at Buzzard Roost, North Alabama. Also on the 1st inst., very suddenly Tahace, his only sister aged seventy.
