by Ron Henson
Mrs Elizabeth Ervin died last night at her home near Ervin, of general debility.
Mrs. Ervin was born in Milledgeville, Ga., in 1815, making her 104 years old. She came to this country with her family, way back in the 18th century and married Mr. Ervin, her husband and a part Choctaw Indian many years ago. She was a full blood white woman.
Mrs. Ervin was the oldest citizen of Choctaw county and was known to nearly all the older settler, the younger generation knowing little of her, as she had been so enfeebled for many years that she seldom left her home.
She was the mother of seven children, three daughters and four sons. The daughters are all dead and the sons all living. They are Frank, C.W., Ed and Billie, and all live near the old home hear Ervin. The burial took place at Shoals this (Monday) afternoon.
