J.D. Choat

    Funeral services for J.D. Choat of Hugo were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 1, 2005, at Miller & Miller Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Charles Green officiating. Interment was in Springs Chapel Cemetery - Hugo. Mr. Choat died December 29, 2004, in Paris, Texas. He was 83 years old. He was an upholsterer by trade and a member of Heaven's Harvest Church of God in Hugo. He was born August 5, 1921 in Hugo, Okla. and had lived in the Hugo area most of his life. He was in the CCC Camp in Colorado. He married Iva Henderson on December 29, 1941 in Hugo. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters; Ola May Mayes, and Eva Worthy, 2 brothers; Lawson Choat, and Ray Choat. SURVIVING RELATIVES: His wife; Iva Choat; 1 daughter; Wanda Howard and her husband Donald of Lone Grove, Okla., grandchildren; Christina Owens and her husband Jesse, Rebecca Webb and her husband Billy, Christopher Howard and his wife Jammey, and Diana Pierce all of Yuma, Arizona; 5 great grandchildren; Asa Ross, Tesla Webb, Justis Webb, Damian Pierce, and Rigen Howard, 2 sisters; Wanda Morton and her husband Bill of Hugo, Okla., and Juanita Clouse of Durant, Okla. and a host of family and friends. The family received friends Friday, December 31, 2004 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Miller & Miller Funeral Home - Hugo. Paid announcement.
