    Funeral services for Houston Jackson of Hugo were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 8, 2005, at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in the Gay Community with Pastor Tucker and Rev. Massey officiating. Interment was in Box Springs Cemetery in Sawyer. Mr. Jackson died Monday, January 3, 2005, in Oklahoma City. He was 68.Houston Jackson was born on February 5, 1936 in Box Springs, Okla., to Primer and Hylar B. Jackson. Being the first born son, Houston looked up to his father as a great leader so he set his goals in life to be a great leader as well. Houston accepted Christ at an early age. He was a member of the True Vine Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, and was affiliated with Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Gay. Houston finished school in 1954, and he was the first black man to drive a Pepsi truck and Wonder Chip truck, delivering the products to different convenience stores. Houston then owned a scrap yard business and a service station, then Jackson Tire Center which was his life and greatest success until his health started to fail him, leading him into early retirement. He retired as a businessman. He leaves to cherish his memories one brother, Carl Wayne Jackson; three sisters, Daisy Wheeler of Topeka, Kan., Maylene Guest of Lawton, Irene Williams of Las Vegas, Nev.; six sons, Robert H. Jackson, Kenneth D. Jackson, Antoine E. Jackson, Troy R. Jackson, Brian H. Jackson and David H. Jackson, all of Oklahoma City; two daughters, Quiencella M. Adkism of Grant and Lisa C. Oliver of Atlanta, Ga. He also leaves to cherish his loving memories, aunts and uncles, and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
