    Funeral services for Bert Bartley Latham of Hugo were held at 2 p.m. Friday, December 31, 2004, at Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mutt Wallace officiating. Interment was in Goodland Cemetery. Mr. Latham died Sunday, December 26, 2004, in Hugo. He was 88.Bert Latham was born on February 20, 1916 in Hugo to Charles Bartley and Gertrude Annie (Sexton) Latham. He married Betty Sims on September 30, 1950 in De Queen, Ark. He had lived in this area most of his life and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Soper. He was a carpenter and had served as the city clerk of Soper for 10 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was preceded in death by one son, Howard Wayne Latham. He is survived by his wife, Betty of the home; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The family received friends Thursday, December 30, 2004, from 5-6 p.m. at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel in Hugo.Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home.
