Funeral services for Lurline Mildred Roebuck of Soper were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2005, at Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Chapel. Interment was in Soper Cemetery. Mrs. Roebuck died Saturday, January 1, 2005, in Soper. She was 78.Lurline was born on November 14, 1926 in Soper to George Vaughn and Mona (McClure) Vaughn. She married Fred Roebuck. Lurline was a retired lunchroom manager where the kids affectionately called her "Gong-Gong." She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Soper. She had lived in this area all of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Roebuck; great-grandson Anthony Parks; four brothers, Lemuel Vaughn, Herman Vaughn, G.C. Vaughn and Eldon Vaughn; one sister Golie Henson. Lurline is survived by two sons, Eddie Kirby of Soper and Rodger Roebuck of Kansas City, Mo.; three daughters, Judy Thomas of Fouke, Ark., Patricia Parks of McAlester amd Kay Logue of Soper; one sister, Bernice Lemmons of Wellington, Texas; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
